BCI Marikina
successfully held its Juniors’ camp at the BCI parsonage at Buntong Palay, San
Mateo, Rizal with the theme, “Galactic Blast! A Cosmic Adventure Praising God” on
April 18-20. Around 85 juniors and counselors participated in the said event.
(April 18) The registration started at around 8:30 am while the program officially started at 10 am. Sister Sharon Fajardo, the camp
directress, and YES president Bro. Kyle de Guzman warmly welcomed everyone and reminded the campers about the camp’s rules and guidelines. Then, YES members energetically led
the participants in singing songs. There were three teams; Red Sun, Blue Moon,
and Yellow Star. Pastor Russell Coles
shared the creation story to the children (Mission 1). After that, Sister Sarah
Garcia facilitated the arts and crafts depicting the creation. In the
afternoon, the campers played games and practiced for the contests at night
namely Commercial Skit, Solo and Duet.

For the evening session, Pastor Eugene Recerone shared the salvation to
the campers while Pastor Russell shared the story of Elijah at Mount Horeb (Mission
2). Then, pasiklaban na, each team gave their best to win in the contest..
After that, counselling time before lights off.
(April
19) – Most campers woke up early
the next day. They were excited for
the upcoming events and games. The campers started their day with morning
devotion with their counsellors. Thanks to the members of WOW (Women of
Worship) for their yummy breakfast. Then, Pastor Russell preached about the
Samaritan woman at the well (Mission 3) during the morning session. For their
crafts, each children were given a template of a well that they need to color and
then assemble.
For the evening
session, Bro. Bon Principe and selected youth members portrayed
the story of the blind beggar at Jericho (Mission 4). Each group also showcased their musical side
in the Tunog Tao competition, their dramatic side in the drama presentation (muling nabuhay ang F4, salamat sa Red team)
and their spiritual side in the preaching. It was indeed a funny and
heart-touching evening. Everyone slept soundly that night. Lights off!
(April 20) – Whoah! It is already the third and
last day of the camp. The campers attended the worship service at the BCI
worship hall. They sang in front of the congregation the songs that they
learned from the camp. After the service, the awarding ceremony followed. It
was a close fight indeed. Red Sun won as second runner up, Blue Moon as first
runner up and Yellow Star emerged as the champion. Mr. and Ms. Camper goes to Francis Casipit and Aecielou Cuevas.

Thank you to all who
supported for the success of the Juniors’ Camp. Thank you to AMEN and to everyone
who participated in the construction of the campsite, to WOW who cooked our
food, and to the judges in the different contests. To the councilors and
assistant councilors, thank you for guiding other campers when it comes to
devotion. And most of all, to Lord God our Savior, thank you for giving us the
opportunity to experience this kind of fellowship. Campers, until next time!
