BCI Marikina's Women on Worship Holds Its First Fellowship of the Year

Bible Church International-Marikina's Women on Worship (WOW) held its first fellowship for 2014 last Sunday, January 26, 3:00 P.M. at the Casipit's Residence, J.P. Rizal, Marikina City.

The speaker, Mrs. Rosalie Recerone led the discussion about the topic, "The Strength of Cooperation."  The lesson focused on the book of Hebrews Chapter 10 verses 23 - 25.

Hebrews 10:23-25

King James Version (KJV)
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

These verses reminded the group of women that fellowship with one another should not be forsaken.  The exhortation of one another gives strength and helps each one to move on and move forward.

Thank you Lord for the snacks that were prepared and served!  Thank you Lord for the Casipit and Cruz families for the goto and the banana toron, for the Cristobal and Saguiran families for the lumpiang shanghai.

To God be the glory!

In the afternoon, Brother Jason and I tested each team’s wits and wisdom in the quizzes. Nagkaalaman na kung sino ang nagbabasa ng program at nakikinig sa preaching. All of the teams were competitive, intense ang labanan!  After this, everyone enjoyed the super hair-raising oh-so-Amazing Race. The team’s unity, athletic and mathematical skills, taste buds, wit, and speed in the seven stations were tested. Kanya-kanyang diskarte para manalo lang ang kanilang team, may nag-ala Spiderman at Michael Jordan pa nga! In the evening, our tired bodies were recharged when we ate our sumptuous dinner.

For the evening session, Pastor Eugene’s preaching is about “Darkness.” Then, selected youth and councilors performed a special number, an interpretative dance. That night each group showcased their artistic side in writing an original song composition and performing ala teleserye sa haba na drama. Everyone’s hidden talents were discovered. It was indeed a funny and heart-touching evening. After this, evening devotion followed. We all slept with joy in our hearts and smile on faces. Lights off!

Then, Pastor Eugene preached about “Light.” And for the morning’s main event - twenty-four individuals accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior and followed Him in water baptism. Twenty-one youth from BCI Marikina and three from BCI Angono were baptized. What a good news!

We are THE CHAMPION my friends! And we'll keep on fighting till the end.

Although not all of us are champions, I believe that everybody were already a winner. We gained lots of memories, experiences, learnings and new friends in this camp and that’s what matters most.

To the owner of the campsite, we send our gratitude. To WOW who cooked our food, thank you for preparing our meals with love. To AMEN, thank you for your nightly rounds and efforts in ensuring the camp’s security. To the judges in the different contests, thank you. To the councilors and assistant councilors, thank you for guiding other campers when it comes to devotion. To everyone who gave their support and prayers for the success of this camp, a BIG thank you!  And most of all, to Lord God our Savior, thank you for giving us the opportunity to experience this kind of fellowship. Youth Camp 2013 Day 1

Happy New Year brothers and sisters in the Lord! After all the hustle and the bustle of the past holiday season I will now be able to share to you the happenings at our youth camp.

BCI Marikina successfully held its 3-day camp at Woodridge Heights Club, Marikina City with the theme, “Taken: Death to Life, Darkness to Light. 108 youth and young professionals from BCI Marikina, Angono and Cogeo took part in this significant endeavor.

(Dec. 26) The BIG day! Everyone excitedly grabbed their bags and prepared for the first day of camp. The registration started at around 10 a.m. while the program officially started at 1 p.m. Pastor Russell, the camp director, warmly welcomed everyone and oriented us about the camp’s guidelines. The Gratitude Team energetically led us in singing the camp’s theme song, “Came to my Rescue.” After that, the campers were divided into four teams; Love (Red), Lead (Blue), Life (Green) and Light (Yellow). Catcalls pa lang mukhang hindi na magpapatalo ang bawat grupo. Each team’s cooperation was first tested with the indoor games facilitated by Brother Jason.

Our energetic pastor, Pastor Eugene, delivered the evening message regarding “Death.” Boys and girls were awakened with the three different contests that followed, solo (singing), tunog tao and commercial skit. After this, the councilors met their respective counselees for the evening devotion. 10 p.m. lights off.
