Youth Camp 2013 Day 1

Happy New Year brothers and sisters in the Lord! After all the hustle and the bustle of the past holiday season I will now be able to share to you the happenings at our youth camp.

BCI Marikina successfully held its 3-day camp at Woodridge Heights Club, Marikina City with the theme, “Taken: Death to Life, Darkness to Light. 108 youth and young professionals from BCI Marikina, Angono and Cogeo took part in this significant endeavor.

(Dec. 26) The BIG day! Everyone excitedly grabbed their bags and prepared for the first day of camp. The registration started at around 10 a.m. while the program officially started at 1 p.m. Pastor Russell, the camp director, warmly welcomed everyone and oriented us about the camp’s guidelines. The Gratitude Team energetically led us in singing the camp’s theme song, “Came to my Rescue.” After that, the campers were divided into four teams; Love (Red), Lead (Blue), Life (Green) and Light (Yellow). Catcalls pa lang mukhang hindi na magpapatalo ang bawat grupo. Each team’s cooperation was first tested with the indoor games facilitated by Brother Jason.

Our energetic pastor, Pastor Eugene, delivered the evening message regarding “Death.” Boys and girls were awakened with the three different contests that followed, solo (singing), tunog tao and commercial skit. After this, the councilors met their respective counselees for the evening devotion. 10 p.m. lights off.
